This is a fantastic opportunity to ensure the smooth administration of accounting processes while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.The teams manage the accounting day to day processes including Customer Invoicing, Supplier Management, receipt, and payment processing as well as the controls around these functions including Bank reconciliations and permanent supervisionKey PurposeAnalyse various balance sheet and profit & loss accounts to identify anomalies, ensure accuracy and correct treatment of the costs in the management accountsSupport Sales teams by preparing accurate billing reportsPerform Bank Reconciliations investigating and resolving outstanding queriesQuarterly Permanent Supervision Controls for the DepartmentPrimary ResponsibilitiesCompletion of daily Bank Reconciliation including end of month reconciliation.Preparation of various billing reports for external clientsReconciliation and analysis of Profit and Loss AccountsReview & validate Credit Note requests to ensure they are valid, coded correctly and approved in line with the Authority Manual.Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations allocated to the role and aiding cover as and when required.Completion of Quarterly Permanent Supervision ControlsProvide assistance and support to the yearly external auditKnowledge expert in Accounting Operations to offer support and guidance to the team and wider businessSkills, Experience & BackgroundPrevious Experience in Finance/Accounting OperationsQualified / Working towards AAT or equivalentEvidence of strong communication skills both written & verbalProven ability in working under pressureHigh Level of numeracy and attention to detailGood standard in IT literacy with particular focus on Microsoft Excel and WordSelf-motivated with evidence of strong organisation skills including time managementThis role would be a 12 month fixed term contract.What we offerRewards & Financial BenefitsCompetitive pension scheme, Annual salary review and bonus scheme, Give As You Earn (GAYE) scheme, Employee referral scheme (£1,000), Retail discounts programme, GymFlex membership options, Cycle to Work schemeHealth & WellbeingLife Assurance, Health assessment options, Travel insurance, Critical illness cover, Personal accident insurance.Time Off & WorkLife Balance25 days annual leave + an additional Celebration Day, 37.5 hour week, Monday to Friday, no weekends, Holiday buy & sell scheme, Volunteer days, Time allocated for personal development, Study support (where applicable).Workplace & On-Site FacilitiesFree parking (Limited), EV charging points, Bike storage & shower facilities, Complimentary breakfast, Staff and social eventsStudies have shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply for an opportunity unless they exactly meet the criteria specified.
