This job is grade Hay 15.Based at our Capenhurst site, you'll provide discipline specific engineering services within the UUK Engineering & Projects department to ensure the delivery of safe, cost effective design solutions. To undertake activities across the project/engineering cycle, including requirements capture, Optioneering, Design Delivery, review/approval of design deliverables, management of installation/construction, testing/commissioning and handover and to provide discipline specific advice into a variety of forums, taking ownership and resolving issues as required.What you'll do:• Producing high quality engineering deliverables to cost and schedule which comply with UUK design procedures, relevant codes and standards, and nuclear site license requirements.• Providing routine progress updates and specialist technical input to a variety of forums as required.• Identifying technical solutions to problems encountered on site and supporting the delivery of these• Understanding and considering the wider implications of a change, outside of your own discipline.• Undertaking technical investigations as required• Produce appropriate specifications for contractors and manage their delivery• Oversee activities and deliverables from contractors, to ensure work is carried out to specification, on time and compliant with UUK procedures.• Actively manage and record CPD from on-the-job training and any external learning, in order to provide robust evidence for professional registration/membership and SQEP.• Actively progress development of your knowledge of UUK assets, processes and business drivers.What do you need to thrive in this role?• Good understanding of Engineering design processes in a heavily regulated industry.• Understanding and application of up to date industrial practices related to discipline-specific engineering, including safety through design.• Working knowledge of other Engineering disciplines, technologies, plant systems and processes that are present in Urenco.• Working knowledge of international and UK standards relating to engineering and design related to discipline-specific engineering within the nuclear industry.• Appreciation of current health and safety legislation.• Excellent IT skills including Windows and Microsoft applications, Documentum and SAP.• Ability to use or learn to use specialist software packages (e.g. system modeling packages).• Capable of producing high quality technical documentation including functional and technical specifications and project documentation.• Ability to maintain and develop own technical knowledge to ensure the best, cost effective and safe solutions are proposed and implementedWhat can you expect from us?More than just a job, we offer a future.
