Through continued investment in their people, modern construction methods, and sustainable delivery, they continue to secure major projects and strengthen their reputation as a trusted construction partner.As part of their continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Health & Safety Director to lead and develop the company's health, safety, environmental, and wellbeing strategy.The RoleAs Health & Safety Director, you will be responsible for:Leading the company's Health & Safety strategy across all construction operationsPromoting a positive health, safety, and wellbeing culture throughout the businessEnsuring compliance with all current health & safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practiceProviding strategic advice and guidance to the senior leadership team on all HSE mattersDeveloping, implementing, and reviewing company HSE policies, procedures, and management systemsMonitoring compliance through audits, inspections, and site visits across multiple projectsInvestigating incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing preventative measuresLeading health & safety training initiatives and promoting continuous professional developmentSupporting pre-construction teams with risk management and safe planning of worksWorking closely with operational teams to ensure health & safety remains at the forefront of project deliveryManaging relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholdersDriving continuous improvement across health, safety, environmental, and quality performanceThe Ideal CandidateThe successful Health & Safety Director will have:Proven experience in a senior Health & Safety leadership role within the construction industryPrevious experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractorStrong knowledge of residential construction, including high-rise, low-rise, traditional build, and Design & Build projectsExcellent understanding of UK health & safety legislation and CDM RegulationsExperience developing and implementing company-wide HSE strategiesStrong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsExperience leading audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiativesNEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) as a minimumChartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards chartered status would be advantageousFull UK Driving LicenceWhat's on OfferCompetitive basic salary of £80,000 - £90,000Attractive benefits packageOpportunity to join a growing and highly respected main contractorStrategic leadership role with influence across the entire businessExposure to a varied portfolio of high-rise, low-rise, traditional build, and Design & Build residential projectsLong-term career progression within a financially stable organisationSupportive senior leadership team and collaborative working environmentApply: If you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today with our Commercial Specialist, Mark Harris.Building Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
