Job Description
Reed in Teesside are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established UK distribution business supplying products and services to customers across multiple sectors. \nThey are looking to recruit 2 – 3 permanent HGV Class 2 drivers, their drivers are often the most regular point of contact for customers and therefore play a key role in maintaining customer relationships and representing the business professionally.

- Salary: £36,396 per annum. \n
- Salary review scheduled annually, with an anticipated increase following the next review cycle. \n

Working Hours

- Typical start times between 5:00am and 9:00am. \n
- Drivers generally work approximately 9 hours from their start time. \n
- Typical finish times range between 3:00pm and 6:00pm. \n
- During quieter periods, finish times may be considerably earlier. \n
- Employees are paid for contracted hours regardless of occasional fluctuations in workload. \n
- The role operates within a seasonal business environment, with workload varying throughout the year and peak periods occurring at specific times. \n
- No requirement for regular full weekend working. \n
- Typically 1-2 Saturdays per month. \n
- Saturday hours are returned through a Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) arrangement. \n
Main Duties & Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and basic defect reporting to ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy. \n
- Deliver products safely and on time, following planned routes and delivery schedules. \n
- Load and unload stock using appropriate handling equipment, including sack barrows. \n
- Undertake manual handling activities, including moving kegs and other stock into customer premises. \n
- Pick stock from pallets when required. \n
- Ensure loads are secured correctly using approved load restraint systems. \n
- Check deliveries against paperwork and ensure accuracy at the point of delivery. \n
- Collect returns, reusable containers, and equipment and return them safely to site. \n
- Complete all required delivery documentation and handheld device tasks. \n
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
\n- \n
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence. \n
- Driver CPC qualification. \n
- Digital Tachograph Card. \n
- Good understanding of driver hours legislation, tachograph regulations, and working time requirements. \n
- Knowledge of safe loading and load restraint practices. \n
- Strong customer service skills. \n
- Professional and positive attitude when dealing with customers. \n
- Good communication skills. \n
- Reliable and able to work effectively within a team environment. \n
- Strong commitment to safe driving and workplace safety. \n
