Assistant MEP Manager - Commercial RetrofitCentral LondonWe are working with an established European construction group that is delivering a major commercial retrofit project in Central London.The project involves the refurbishment of around 10,000m² of high-end office space. They are now looking for an Assistant MEP Manager to join the project team and support the delivery of the mechanical and electrical services.This is a hands-on role working closely with the MEP Manager, subcontractors, consultants and the wider site team.It is likely to suit someone with one to four years' experience working for a building services contractor who wants to develop into a broader project delivery role.Unlike some MEP positions within a main contractor, this role will involve direct involvement in the detail of the building services packages, including design information, procurement, installation, quality and programme.The role will include:Supporting the procurement of MEP subcontractors, equipment and materialsManaging technical submissions and reviewing drawingsCoordinating design information with consultants and subcontractorsMonitoring the installation of mechanical and electrical servicesCarrying out quality inspections and helping resolve site issuesSupporting the MEP programme and tracking progressAssisting with contract administration and change managementCoordinating services with the architectural and structural elements of the projectSupporting health and safety managementAssisting with testing, commissioning, snagging and handoverThe successful candidate is likely to have:One to four years' experience with a building services or MEP contractorA BEng, HNC or similar qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical EngineeringSome experience reviewing technical drawings and design informationA practical understanding of how mechanical and electrical services are installed on siteGood communication and organisational skillsThe confidence to work with subcontractors, consultants and site teamsExperience on commercial fit-out, refurbishment or retrofit projects would be useful, although it is not essential.This is a good opportunity for an Assistant MEP Manager, Building Services Engineer or MEP Project Engineer who wants more responsibility and exposure across the full project lifecycle.The company has a strong European background and is continuing to grow its London operation.
