Managing Quantity Surveyor - Construction & Development Location - North West (Liverpool, St Helens, Warrington & North Wales) Salary/Package - 70,000 to 75,000 + Excellent Benefits Package About the Company Our client is a leading construction and property services contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of construction, refurbishment, regeneration, and development projects across the North West and North Wales. With a strong reputation for quality, collaboration, and customer service, they work in partnership with both public and private sector clients to successfully deliver projects that create long-term value for local communities. Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are now seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead their commercial team and support the successful delivery of high-value construction and development projects. The Role As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for: Leading and managing a team of Quantity Surveyors across multiple construction and development projects Taking overall responsibility for the commercial performance of projects with a combined annual turnover of approximately £40 million Leading the monthly CVR process and chairing month-end commercial review meetings Producing accurate commercial reporting, management accounts, forecasts, and financial performance updates Supporting the Commercial Director with strategic commercial planning and business performance Managing cash flow, applications for payment, valuations, and final accounts Ensuring robust subcontract procurement, contract administration, and commercial governance Reviewing contractual documentation and providing commercial advice across JCT and NEC contracts Managing commercial risk and identifying opportunities to maximise project profitability Supporting pre-construction teams with cost feedback and commercial insight Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders Leading, mentoring, and developing the Quantity Surveying team through regular performance reviews and professional development Promoting best practice across commercial management, contract administration, and company procedures Playing a key role within the senior leadership team, contributing to business growth and continuous improvement initiatives The Ideal Candidate The successful Managing Quantity Surveyor will have: Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction discipline Proven experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager, or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry Previous experience managing and developing commercial teams Strong understanding of JCT and NEC contracts Excellent knowledge of cost management, CVRs, forecasting, subcontract management, and final accounts Strong commercial awareness with experience managing high-value project portfolios Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Ability to drive commercial performance while mentoring and developing team members Evidence of continuing professional development, with RICS or equivalent membership desirable Full UK Driving Licence What's on Offer Competitive basic salary and comprehensive benefits package Senior leadership opportunity within a well-established and growing contractor Responsibility for a significant commercial portfolio worth approximately £40 million annually Opportunity to lead and develop an established Quantity Surveying team Long-term career progression with genuine opportunities to influence business strategy Stable pipeline of construction and development projects across the North West and North Wales Supportive and collaborative working environment Apply: If you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today with our Commercial Specialist, Mark Harris.
