Do you have the experience to keep a school financially strong, compliant and well prepared for the future?The roleThis is a fantastic opportunity to take on a senior role at the heart of an independent school.As Head of Finance and Compliance, you will work closely with the Headteacher and Directors to keep the school running smoothly, safely and sustainably. You will lead on finance, compliance, risk and governance, helping to make sure the school is well managed and able to keep providing the best possible environment for pupils, staff and families.This role would suit someone who is calm, organised and confident advising senior leaders.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will:Develop and manage the schools financial strategyPrepare budgets, forecasts and management accountsMonitor income, expenditure and cash flowProvide clear financial reports and advice to the Headteacher and GovernorsOversee payroll, pensions and employee benefitsManage relationships with banks, auditors and external advisersPut strong financial controls in placeLead on compliance across health and safety, safeguarding, GDPR and employment lawKeep policies and procedures up to dateIdentify and manage financial, legal and operational risksSupport Directing Body and Finance Committee meetingsManage supplier contracts and purchasing activitySupport facilities planning and estates-related investmentAbout our companyWe are an independent school with a strong focus on good governance, careful financial planning and creating a safe, supportive environment where pupils and staff can thrive.The BenefitsFull-time, permanent role42-week working year between September and August36 weeks during term time and 6 weeks during non-term timeSenior position with real influence across the schoolOpportunity to play a key part in the schools long-term successThe personYou will be a qualified accountant, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, with strong financial management experience.You will also bring:Excellent budgeting, forecasting and reporting skillsKnowledge of compliance requirements within schoolsClear and confident communication skillsGood judgement and strong attention to detailA professional, approachable and collaborative styleExperience in an independent school, education setting, school systems or charity-related finance would be an advantage.Whats nextIf you are ready to bring your finance and compliance expertise into a role where your work will make a real difference, apply today.TPBN1_UKTJ
