Health and Safety Manager - Civils / Construction

Kenneth Brian Associates are working with a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering specialist infrastructure projects across London and the South East.Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of health, safety, and compliance across multiple live sites.This role is split approximately 80% office-based and 20% site-based , combining compliance responsibilities with regular site visits, ensuring the safe delivery of high-risk construction activities in an active, fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and maintain company HSE systems, policies, and proceduresReview, support, and contribute to RAMS for live site activitiesCarry out regular site inspections and audits across multiple projectsManage key operational risks including excavation, confined spaces, lifting operations, and traffic managementLead incident investigations and ensure accurate reporting (including RIDDOR where required)Deliver toolbox talks and support site inductionsLiaise with clients, regulators, and internal operational teamsSupport external accreditations (e.g. CHAS, Constructionline)About You4+ years Health & Safety experience within civils, groundworks, or utilities environmentsStrong understanding of high-risk construction activities (excavation and confined spaces essential)NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualificationCSCS card and full UK driving licenceConfident, practical, and comfortable working across active construction sitesAbility to influence site teams and promote a strong safety cultureTPBN1_UKTJ
