If you thrive on fault finding, enjoy solving complex mechanical problems and want to work with large-scale plant equipment in a fast-paced environment then this could be the role for you!Were looking for a skilled, proactive Maintenance Fitter to keep critical quarry and asphalt operations running at peak performance.What youll be doingRapidly respond to plant breakdowns, restoring production quickly and safelyDeliver permanent engineering solutions, not just quick fixesCarry out planned maintenance and shutdown activitiesDiagnose faults across conveyors, crushers, pumps, gearboxes & vibratory screensTake ownership of small improvement projectsSupport continuous improvement and eliminate repeat failuresWork closely with contractors and suppliers onsitePerform high-quality welding and fabricationUse CMMS systems to log maintenance activity and track performanceUphold and champion Health, Safety & Environmental standardsWhat were looking forA mechanical apprenticeship (higher level preferred)Experience in heavy industry, quarrying, manufacturing or similar environmentsStrong skills in mechanical fault finding and diagnosticsConfidence working with bearings, drives, motors and plant equipmentAbility to work independently and under pressure in a 24/7 operationA proactive mindset with a focus on safety, quality and continuous improvementThe locationBarrasford Quarry is a high-profile, large-scale operation featuring:Advanced jaw, cone and quaternary crushersExtensive conveyor and screening systemsA modern asphalt plant producing over 1,000 tonnes per dayRecent major investment upgrades delivering state-of-the-art equipmentWhy TarmacAt Tarmac, who you are matters .
