Software Development Manager - Legal - ActionstepUK WIDE£700-800/day ( Inside IR35)About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to lead the development and delivery of solutions within our client's legal technology ecosystem, with a particular focus on Actionstep.This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced Software Development Manager looking for their next challenge, or a Senior Developer with strong Actionstep experience and leadership potential.The successful candidate will play a key role in leading a development team, driving technical excellence, and delivering innovative solutions that improve the way our legal business operates.This will be a 6-9 month contract with potential to extend, and would involve occasional travel to an office in the North WestKey ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the software development function, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to agreed quality standards.Oversee the design, development, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications.Own the technical roadmap for Actionstep development and integrations during a case management system migration.Design, build and maintain custom workflows, automations and integrations within the Actionstep platform.Work closely with legal stakeholders and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Promote best practice across software development, testing, security and documentation.Drive continuous improvement in development processes and Agile delivery.Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable and aligned with business objectives.Essential Skills & ExperienceStrong hands-on experience developing solutions within the Actionstep platformPrevious experience managing or leading a software development team - OR - Informal leadership experience such as mentoring developers, leading projects or acting as technical lead.Excellent understanding of legal technology and law firm workflows.Ability to prioritise workloads and manage stakeholder expectations.Experience delivering system, data, workflow, and process migrations between enterprise platforms.Strong requirements gathering, documentation, testing, and solution design skills.Solid understanding of software architecture and technical design.Experience managing third-party suppliers and technology partners.Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Keywords: Software Development / Software Developer / Legal / Law Firm / Case management / Actionstep / Management / ManagerCircle Recruitment is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
