Production TechnicianLocation: Waterbeach, UK Department: Production Reporting to: Production Process Supervisor Job Type: Full-time, PermanentAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Production Technician to join a growing production team working on the assembly and testing of advanced electro-mechanical products and systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a range of innovative technologies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where quality, precision, and teamwork are highly valued.The role involves the manufacture, assembly, testing, and fault-finding of mechanical, optical, and electronic assemblies. Production work ranges from cable and harness assembly through to complete system build and test activities.This position would suit someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working across a variety of technologies and production tasks.Key ResponsibilitiesElectro-mechanical assembly and testing of products and sub-assembliesCable, wiring, and harness assemblySMT soldering and PCB repair workComponent-level troubleshooting, fault finding, and debuggingRecording, documenting, and maintaining production/test dataReading and interpreting schematic diagrams and technical documentationUsing standard electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, DVMs, and signal generatorsSupporting continuous improvement and maintaining high-quality production standardsWorking within clean room procedures for opto-mechanical assembly where requiredSkills & Experience RequiredFormal engineering or relevant technical qualificationGood understanding of electronic fundamentalsExperience with troubleshooting, fault finding, and debuggingSMT soldering experience (including fine-pitch components) and PCB repair skillsWiring and cable/harness assembly experienceAbility to read and interpret schematic diagramsComputer literate with good technical documentation skillsExperience using standard electronic test equipmentWorking knowledge of PCB design softwareBasic experience with SolidWorks or similar mechanical design softwareUnderstanding of analogue and digital video processing is desirableUnderstanding of clean room techniques for opto-mechanical assembly is advantageousTPBN1_UKTJ
