Operations Manager (Manufacturing)Location: Dewsbury, WF13 2HF Salary: £35,000 £40,000 per annum (flexible depending on experience) Hours: Monday to Thursday: 7:30 am 5:30 pm, Friday: 7:30 am 2:30 pm, but this is a managerial role, so if anything comes up, tasks must be completed as requiredOur client is a leading UK manufacturer of premium greeting card envelopes and stationery. They combine decades of expertise with modern manufacturing to deliver quality, consistency and service you can rely on.The RoleThey are seeking a highly organised and proactive Operations Manager to manage day-to-day administrative, production, and operational activities within a manufacturing site.This is a varied, hands-on role combining office administration, production planning, health & safety coordination, and factory support to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The role is fully on-site.You will work closely with production, accounts, payroll, and senior management and report day-to-day to directors and support staff based in Milton Keynes. During the first 3 months, the focus will be a blend of office administration and production / H&S operations .Key responsibilities:Office & Factory AdministrationManage production schedules and job sheetsMaintain staff holiday records, wage and hours sheetsCoordinate with accounts and payroll teamsSupport HR administration and staff welfare initiativesOversee office standards, maintenance, cleanliness and safetyManage supplier contracts and vendor relationshipsEnsure compliance with company policies and confidentialityProduction Planning & OperationsPlan, organise and monitor production schedulesCoordinate raw materials and paper purchasingMonitor workflow to meet production targetsSupport and collaborate with production planningIdentify efficiency improvements and waste reduction opportunitiesCoordinate machinery servicing and maintenanceQuality, Compliance & Health & SafetyTake full responsibility for FSC audits, including preparation and executionMaintain quality standards across production outputMaintain H&S documentation, risk assessments and training recordsLiaise with external H&S consultantPromote a safe and compliant working environmentWhat Were Looking ForPrevious experience within a manufacturing, factory or production environmentStrong administrative and organisational skillsExperience coordinating production schedules or production planningWorking knowledge of Excel and SageKnowledge of Health & Safety and compliance requirementsGood understanding of Microsoft Office applicationsExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritise workload and work to deadlinesHigh level of attention to detail and confidentialityStrong organisational and planning abilityLeadership and people management skillsOperational and continuous improvement mindsetAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesPositive, hands-on approach with excellent communication skillsWhats In It For YouNest pension schemeHoliday allowanceBonus scheme (dependent on company performance)Whats next?
