Removals Driver / Porter

Location: Hayes, Middlesex covering London and the Home Counties.Job type: Full-time, permanent.A small but growing removals company is looking for a reliable Removals Driver / Porter to join its operational team. The company takes great pride in delivering a professional, careful and friendly service to household and commercial customers throughout London and the Home Counties.This is not solely a driving role. The successful candidate will work as part of a small team, packing, loading, transporting and unloading customers belongings safely and carefully.It is an active, varied and sociable position offering full training and the opportunity to progress into a Team Leader role as the company continues to grow.What we need from you:A full UK driving licence with no more than three penalty pointsIdeally, 2 years previous experience driving 3.5-tonne vehicles, completing multi drop deliveries or working in a similar driving rolePrevious professional removals experience would be highly advantageousThe ability to safely carry out a physically demanding role involving regular lifting and manual handlingA professional and friendly approach, with excellent customer service and communication skillsA reliable and punctual nature, with a flexible, can-do attitudeThe ability to work well as part of a team and think on your feet when situations changeExperience in dismantling and reassembling furniture would be beneficial, although training can be providedWhat the role involves:Driving company 3.5-tonne vehicles safely and professionallyPacking, protecting, loading, transporting and unpacking household and commercial belongingsDismantling and reassembling furniture where requiredAssisting with the basic disconnection and reconnection of standard domestic appliancesLoading vehicles safely, ensuring items are secure and weight is distributed correctlyCompleting vehicle checks and reporting any damage, defects or incidentsChecking items against inventories and ensuring they are delivered to the correct locationKeeping customers informed and reassured throughout their moveCommunicating regularly with the office and working closely with colleagues to complete each removal efficiently and safelySalary:£14.00 per hour for candidates with suitable driving or multi drop delivery experience who are new to professional removals£15.00 per hour for candidates with at least two years professional removals experienceHours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a 30-minute break each day.
