Multi Skilled EngineerMiddleton, Manchester£53,622 total package (includes 30% shift allowance)Continental Shift Pattern:2 days (7am to 7pm), 2 nights (7pm to 7am), 4 days off42 hours per weekThe CompanyWe are recruiting for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join a well-established FMCG manufacturing business based in Middleton. This is a large, fast-paced production site with a strong engineering culture, modern equipment, and a clear focus on continuous improvement.The RoleReporting to the Engineering Section Manager, you will be part of a multi-skilled engineering team providing both reactive and planned maintenance across a high-volume production environment.This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for keeping production running efficiently, minimising downtime, and supporting ongoing improvement projects across site.We are looking to recruit two engineers , one electrically biased and one mechanically biased.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out reactive maintenance and fault finding to minimise downtime and production lossesComplete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to a high standardWork with permit to work systems, isolations and risk assessmentsSupport continuous improvement and lean maintenance initiativesAccurately record work using CMMS systems, including parts and follow-up actionsWork closely with production, quality and H&S teams to ensure minimal disruptionAssist with installation, commissioning and improvement of new equipmentSupport training and development of other engineers where requiredMaintain high standards of health and safety at all timesAbout YouTime served apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical EngineeringExperience working as a Multi Skilled Engineer within a manufacturing environmentStrong fault finding skills, either electrical or mechanical biasExperience working on high-speed or automated production machineryAbility to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawingsKnowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and control systemsProactive, team-oriented approach with strong problem-solving abilityComfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentWhat's On Offer£53,622 total earnings (including shift allowance)24 days holiday plus bank holidaysAdditional holiday for long serviceOption to earn 3 extra “Thank You Days” per yearPension scheme (salary sacrifice)Private medical cover3x life assuranceOvertime availableStable, well-established business with strong engineering investmentWhy JoinThis is a great opportunity to join a business where engineering plays a critical role in site performance.
