Job Description

Morson Edge currently have excellent opportunities for experienced TIG-MMA Welders to join our client's existing site team at Hinkley Point C on a permanent basis. You'll become part of the Nuclear New Build MEH Alliance at Hinkley Point C - the UK's largest construction infrastructure Project in Somerset. You will join a team striving for excellence and playing a pivotal role in the delivery of complex piping and cabling systems to the nation's first-ever 3rd Generation nuclear power plant.You will:Perform welding operations to a radiographic standard - Pipe welding/supports/bracketsConduct equipment inspectionsAdhere to established welding protocols and safety regulations, including fume controlIdentify and report potential welding problems for corrective actionAbility to identify your own welds for quality controlComply with established quality control procedures and documentation standardsCurrent Shift PatterN: 10 days on 4 days off (10/4)ESSENTIAL: To succeed in these roles, Welders must test and show competence to the following ISO 9606 standards:SWQ 02 – 2”Nb XXS Carbon Steel Pipe Butt Weld, H-L045, TIG throughout with an ER 70 S-6 wireSWQ 04 – 2”Nb XXS Stainless Steel Pipe Butt Weld, H-L045, TIG throughout, ER 70 S-6 wire and 316L Tig rodSWQ 70 – Multi Pass Fillet Weld completed on a 60 x 60 x 5mm Box Section to a 200 x 200 x 12mm plate utilizing the MMA welding Process7018 Low Hydrogen Electrodes completed in the PH positionSWQ-22 – Multi Pass Fillet Weld completed on a 60 x 60 x 6mm Box Section to a 200 x 200 x 12mm Plate utilizing the TIG welding process, 316L Tig wire completed in the PH welding positionSWQ 19 – Multi Pass Fillet Weld completed on a 60 x 60 x 5mm Box Section to a 200 x 200 x 12mm plate utilizing the TIG welding process, ER 70 S-6 Tig wire completed in the PH positionQualificationsTime served Welding apprenticeship and/or C&G in WeldingSignificant welding fabrication experience within a construction/heavy industrial environment (Nuclear site experience would be advantageous but not essential)Must hold a CCNSG Safety Passport (at time of Project commencement)Ability to pass BPSS VettingIf you want to gain unique experience on a nationally significant construction project this opportunity is for you.
