This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operative or emerging leader who is ready to progress into a supervisory role within a business that prioritises safety, performance, and long-term career development.The RoleReporting to theQuarrySection Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-performing quarry and plant operations. You will lead by example, supporting your team to deliver production targets whilemaintainingthe highest standards of safety and compliance.WhatYoullBringProven experience within quarrying, aggregates, asphalt, or a similar heavy industrial environmentCompetence in operating or supervising mobile plant (e.g. excavators, loading shovels, crushers, screens)Strong leadership capability with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold individuals accountableA clear commitment to health, safety, and environmental complianceThe ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain operational continuityGood working knowledge of IT systems (e.g. SAP, Excel or equivalent)8.1(d) appointment (or working towards)Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Quarry Section Manager in delivering safe and efficient day-to-day operationsSupervise a team of operatives and contractors, ensuring clear direction and accountabilityEmbed and promote a strong safety-first culture through visible leadershipCoordinate production, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping activitiesUtilise systems such as Multitrack to manage performance, compliance, and reportingWork collaboratively with other supervisors to maximise plant efficiency and outputMaintain a hands-on presence across both quarry and asphalt operationsContribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence initiativesWhy Tarmac?At Tarmac, you will be part of a business that builds the UKs infrastructure while investing in its people.We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where diverse perspectives drive innovation and success.
