This is a genuine working supervisor role where you'll lead by example, supporting production on the shop floor while driving quality, productivity and continuous improvement.You'll play a key role in ensuring customer expectations are met, production targets are achieved and your team has the support they need to succeed, while keeping morale and motivation high.We are a well-established precision manufacturer with a reputation for quality, reliability and outstanding customer service.We continue to invest in the latest manufacturing technology and our people, creating a modern manufacturing environment where skilled engineers can build rewarding, long-term careers.As our business continues to grow, we're looking for motivated people who want to grow with us.----------------------------------------------------------------- The Role: Supervising the daily operation of the laser cutting departmentLeading, motivating and supporting the laser cutting teamPlanning and allocating workloads to meet production schedulesOperating and setting laser cutting machinery when requiredCarrying out first-off inspections and ensuring products meet customer specificationsMonitoring quality throughout production and resolving issues promptlyIdentifying opportunities to reduce downtime and improve efficiencyWorking closely with Programming, Production Planning, Quality and Operations teamsCoaching, mentoring and developing members of the teamManaging day-to-day people matters, including probation reviews and return-to-work meetingsSupporting recruitment and induction of new team membersMaintaining excellent housekeeping standardsPromoting a strong health and safety culture across the departmentReporting machinery issues and working with maintenance to minimise disruptionDriving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and performance--------------------------------------------------------------What We're Looking For:Previous experience team leading or supervising a laser cutting department or manufacturing teamExtensive experience operating laser cutting machineryA strong understanding of engineering drawings and sheet metal fabricationExcellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skillsThe ability to prioritise workloads and meet production deadlinesStrong communication and people management skillsA quality-focused approach with excellent attention to detailDesirable: Experience with Bystronic, Trumpf, Amada or similar laser cutting equipmentKnowledge of ERP or MRP systemsLean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experienceForklift licenceFirst Aid qualificationTPBN1_UKTJ
