CNC OperatorLocation: Northampton, NN6 7SLStarting Salary: £14 - £16 per hour. Paid weekly, 1 week in arrearsContract: Full time, PermanentHours: We operate two shifts over 5 days. As a new starter, these would be your initial hours: 07.45am - 16.05pm Monday to Thursday and 08.00am - 14.00pm on a Friday. Late shift opportunities may be available.Benefits: 21 Days holiday (+ bank holidays), Pension scheme and Free Parking!Join a High-Precision Engineering Company Supporting Formula 1 & Energy SectorsSmart Turn Ltd is an ISO-9001-certified precision engineering company with over 30 years of expertise in manufacturing high-quality components for the Formula 1 and energy industries.Based in Crick, Northamptonshire, we are proud to deliver excellence, innovation and reliability to our customersAs part of our continued growth, we're looking for CNC Operators to join our expanding team!Whether you're experienced or looking to develop your skills, this is a fantastic opportunity to build a career in precision engineeringCNC Operator - About the role:You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machinery to produce high-precision components, including valve bodies, flanges and Formula 1 fasteners, working to tight tolerances and industry-leading standards.As our CNC Operator you will:Set and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes and/or milling machinesRead and interpret technical engineering drawingsLoad and run CNC programmes efficiently and accuratelyPrepare materials and machine setupsManufacture components to tight tolerances and quality standardsConduct in-process inspection and complete quality documentationUse precision measuring equipment to verify outputMaintain high standards of health & safety complianceWork collaboratively with supervisors and quality teamsAdapt to varying production needs and tasksIn order to be successful in this role you should have (training will provided for the right candidate):Experience operating or setting CNC machines (lathes and/or milling)Familiarity with Fanuc controls (or willingness to learn)Ability to read technical drawings and understand machining processesBasic knowledge of G-code and M-code programmingUnderstanding of measurement tools and quality standardsExperience working with engineering materials (e.g. alloys, ferrous metals)Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds - desirable)Come and meet us!We're a little retro at Smart Turn, and think the best way to get to know someone is to have a face-to-face conversation.This will also mean you have the opportunity to get a feel for us, too - so if you think either your desire, skill set or experience could bring value to Smart Turn then click on APPLY today!Should you deem yourself suitable for this position, we would welcome an informal telephone conversation to discuss your experience and our role.
