Java Developer - 400 Inside

Job Title: Java DeveloperRate: £400 (Inside IR35)Duration: 6 monthsLocation: Remote with occasional visitsClearance: BPSSStages: 1 StageStart Date: AugustKey ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Java applications.Build secure, scalable, and maintainable microservices.Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and Solution Architects.Develop and consume RESTful APIs.Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following best practices.Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions.Work within Agile Scrum teams, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.Essential Skills & ExperienceStrong commercial experience developing applications using Java (Java 11+ preferred).Experience building Spring Boot applications.Strong understanding of RESTful API development.Experience with microservices architecture.Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle.Experience using Git for version control.Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.Experience working in Agile delivery teams.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Desirable SkillsExperience with AWS cloud services.Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with Kafka or other messaging technologies.Familiarity with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code.Experience using Maven or Gradle.Previous experience working within UK Government or other public sector organisations.Understanding of secure software development practices.ClearanceCandidates must be SC Clearance eligible .
