Job SummaryOur client, a specialist contractor delivering major foundation, structural, and civil engineering works across some of the UK's largest infrastructure programmes, is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Controller to join a high-profile project team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a landmark project while supporting the successful financial delivery of complex construction works.The RoleThe Senior Cost Controller will be responsible for overseeing project cost control activities, ensuring robust financial management, accurate reporting, forecasting, and budgetary control throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with project teams and key stakeholders, you will help drive financial performance and support informed decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain effective cost control procedures and reporting systems.Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and investigate cost variances.Review and validate project invoices, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.Produce monthly cost reports, financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and management information.Support budget preparation, updates, and ongoing financial performance monitoring.Identify cost risks and opportunities, recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.Work closely with project, procurement, commercial, and operational teams to ensure financial alignment.Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to monitor cost performance and contractual compliance.Maintain accurate financial records and ensure adherence to company procedures and industry standards.RequirementsDegree qualified in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.Minimum 15 years' experience in cost control, project controls, or project management within major infrastructure, engineering, or construction projects.Previous experience working on large-scale civil engineering, energy, transportation, or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting principles.Experience using project controls and financial management systems, such as SAP.Understanding of risk management processes and cost analysis methodologies.Personal AttributesExcellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.Professional, collaborative approach with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.What's on OfferOpportunity to work on a nationally significant infrastructure project.Long-term project stability within a highly regarded specialist contractor.Collaborative and professional working environment.Competitive salary (negotiable) and benefits package.Please apply by sending your CV toOur clients and their customers come from diverse backgrounds and so do we.
