Supplier Quality EngineerDroitwichManufacturing / Engineering / HVAC£360 - £400 per day (LTD pay rate / Outside IR35)Contract opportunity - OngoingMon -Thurs 7:00am - 16:00pm Fri 7:00am-13:00pmWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join a global engineering and manufacturing business operating at the forefront of fluid-flow technology and advanced engineered solutions.This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong Supplier Quality professional to play a key role in developing and supporting a high-performing supply chain across manufacturing and engineered product environments.The successful candidate will be responsible for supplier auditing, qualification, quality improvement, and supplier performance management, ensuring compliance with industry standards while driving continuous improvement across supplier operations.The role is primarily based in Droitwich but will involve regular travel to supplier sites across the UK and occasional travel within Europe.Key ResponsibilitiesSupplier Qualification & AuditingConduct supplier audits including initial, process, and surveillance auditsAssess supplier compliance against ISO9001, ISO3834, PED, and company quality standardsSupport supplier qualification, onboarding, and capability assessmentsMonitor supplier approvals, certifications, and ongoing supplier performanceSupplier Development & Performance ManagementDrive supplier quality improvements across quality, delivery, and process capabilityLead root cause investigations, corrective actions, and supplier recovery plans using structured methodologies including 8DWork closely with Procurement, Engineering, and Production teams to align supplier capability with business requirementsMaintain supplier scorecards, KPIs, and supplier risk assessmentsTechnical Quality SupportReview supplier quality documentation including weld procedures, inspection reports, quality plans, and material certificationsSupport validation and approval of new or modified supplier components and assembliesParticipate in PPAP, FAIR, and product validation activitiesEnsure compliance with pressure equipment and safety regulations where applicableContinuous ImprovementPromote Lean Manufacturing, defect reduction, and process improvement initiatives across the supplier baseSupport quality improvement projects focused on cost reduction, supplier performance, and operational efficiencyContribute to cross-functional improvement and new product introduction activitiesRequirementsPrevious experience within a Supplier Quality Engineer or Supplier Quality Assurance role within manufacturing, HVAC, fabrication, or engineered products environmentsStrong supplier auditing experience with knowledge of ISO9001, ISO3834, and Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) requirementsTechnical understanding of fabrication, welding, CNC machining, assembly, and inspection processesExperience using structured quality tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and 8DStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work closely with suppliers and cross-functional internal teamsFull UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel regularly to supplier sitesDesirable ExperienceDegree or formal qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Metallurgy, or Quality disciplinesLead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification (IRCA or equivalent)Knowledge of industrial materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, brass, and copperExperience within regulated manufacturing or engineered product industriesWhat Were Looking ForWere looking for a proactive and driven Supplier Quality Engineer who enjoys working closely with suppliers, solving quality challenges, and driving operational improvement across manufacturing supply chains.This role would suit someone who is technically strong, confident communicating at all levels, and passionate about quality, supplier development, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced engineering environment.If youre looking to join an innovative global engineering business with long-term opportunities for development and progression, wed love to hear from you.??
