We are recruiting for an experienced Fire Risk Officer to join a well-established Fire Safety team. This permanent opportunity offers hybrid working, a competitive salary and the chance to work across a varied portfolio of residential properties, helping to ensure the highest standards of fire safety and compliance.

This role is home-based with regular travel throughout London, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel are essential.

The Role\n

Reporting to the Fire Safety Manager, you will provide specialist fire safety advice and undertake comprehensive fire risk assessments across residential buildings, communal areas and HMOs. You will ensure compliance with current fire safety legislation, produce detailed reports and work closely with colleagues, contractors and external agencies to deliver a safe environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Carry out Type 1 and Type 3 fire risk assessments across residential properties.
  • \n
  • Undertake regular inspections of communal areas and residential buildings.
  • \n
  • Audit and review third-party fire risk assessments.
  • \n
  • Produce detailed fire risk reports and maintain accurate assessment records.
  • \n
  • Develop practical fire safety recommendations and monitor remedial works.
  • \n
  • Work closely with contractors and internal teams to ensure fire safety actions are completed.
  • \n
  • Provide technical fire safety advice across the organisation.
  • \n
  • Liaise with Fire Authorities, consultants and external stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Support fire safety projects and contribute to the development of fire safety procedures.
  • \n
  • Deliver fire safety guidance and awareness training where required.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with current fire safety legislation and best practice.
  • \n
  • Travel regularly across the organisation's operating regions.
  • \n
About You\n

To be successful, you will have:

  • A Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment qualification (or equivalent).
  • \n
  • At least two years' experience carrying out fire risk assessments and producing reports.
  • \n
  • Strong experience within a housing or residential environment.
  • \n
  • Excellent knowledge of current fire safety legislation and standards.
  • \n
  • Experience of auditing fire risk assessments and producing technical reports.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • \n
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • \n
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.
  • \n
