Site Engineer

Job Title: Site Engineer Location: Central London Salary: £50,000–£60,000 + package Employment Type: Permanent The Opportunity We are recruiting on behalf of an established main contractor looking to appoint experienced Site Engineers for major construction projects across Central London. The successful candidates will play a key role in the technical delivery of their projects, taking responsibility for setting out, quality assurance and site coordination. You will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Managers, Design Team and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, accurately and in accordance with the programme. Key Responsibilities * Carry out accurate setting out for structural, architectural and external works * Establish and maintain site control points, datums and benchmarks * Use robotic total stations, GPS equipment and other surveying instruments * Check line, level, dimensions and tolerances throughout the construction process * Interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical information * Ensure works are completed in accordance with approved drawings and project requirements * Complete and maintain quality assurance records, inspection and test plans and check sheets * Carry out inspections and identify any defects, discrepancies or non-conforming works * Raise and manage technical queries and requests for information * Coordinate closely with subcontractors to resolve technical and site-based issues Experience and Requirements * Previous experience working as a Site Engineer for a main contractor * Experience delivering major construction projects in London * Strong setting-out and surveying experience * Sound knowledge of reinforced concrete frames, groundworks, structural works, fit-out or external packages * Confident using robotic total stations and other surveying equipment * Experience with AutoCAD and digital quality-management systems * Strong understanding of QA procedures and technical documentation * Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and construction details * Ability to coordinate subcontractors and work effectively within a wider project team * Valid CSCS card * SMSTS or SSSTS and First Aid qualifications would be advantageous What’s on Offer * Salary of £50,000–£60,000, depending on experience * Competitive company benefits package * Opportunity to work on major Central London projects If you are an experienced Site Engineer interested in joining a reputable main contractor in Central London, please apply with your latest CV
