Job Description
Make a valuable impact as a Special Education Teacher working on a contract basis at an elementary school near Keller, TX. This opportunity focuses on supporting students in 1st through 3rd grades who exhibit severe behavioral needs. You'll provide structured education and specialized care for a small group of four students, collaborating closely with school staff to foster a positive, growth-oriented environment.
Ideal candidates have a background working with students requiring behavior intervention and can implement proven support strategies. Experience utilizing Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) techniques is strongly preferred, reflecting the needs of the student population you'll serve.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certified Special Education Teacher
- Prior experience working with elementary-aged students exhibiting severe behavior
- Familiarity with behavioral intervention strategies and support
- CPI training is preferred
- Strong communication, patience, and a team-oriented mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and behavioral support to four elementary students (grades 1–3) with significant behavioral needs
- Develop and implement effective IEP goals that address academic, behavioral, and social development
- Utilize de-escalation and intervention techniques, as appropriate and necessary
- Coordinate closely with school staff and support personnel
- Maintain a safe, structured, and encouraging classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with families and district personnel regarding student progress
