Special Education Teacher - West Chester, PA

Make a difference in the lives of students by stepping into a full-time role supporting learners with diverse needs. We are seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers for contract positions starting August 24, 2026, and continuing through June 10, 2027. This is an onsite opportunity for educators passionate about fostering growth in middle and high school students. Multiple openings are available: one for a Middle School Special Education Teacher (hours between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, to be determined), and three for High School Special Education Teachers with subject concentrations in Science, Math, and Social Studies (hours 7:15 AM–2:45 PM).

Requirements:

• Valid certification/licensure to work with special education students.
• Bachelor’s degree (required to secure an emergency teaching permit, if applicable).
• Experience working in a school environment; urban setting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in instructional skills and mastery of the subject area.
• History of strong classroom and behavioral management.
• Capable of developing and implementing lesson plans consistent with state and district standards, utilizing formative assessment and differentiated instruction.
• Reliable transportation to the worksite.
• Ability to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances prior to start date.
• Flexible to work within the required onsite schedule, with no accommodations for alternate hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, standards-driven instruction to students with diverse learning needs.
• Develop and adapt lesson plans using a variety of instructional strategies.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
• Foster a safe, inclusive classroom community.
• Collaborate with school staff and families to support student achievement.
