Openings include full-time positions for self-contained K-2 multi-categorical classrooms, as well as middle school multi-categorical placements that may be resource or self-contained, tailored to the needs of students. Your dedication will help guide students through individualized programs, fostering independence and academic achievement.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience teaching in self-contained and/or resource classrooms, especially with multi-categorical groups
- Proven ability to individualize instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills
- Collaborative mindset to work alongside colleagues, families, and support staff
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with students’ IEPs
- Adapt teaching strategies to address a variety of student strengths and challenges
- Track and report progress, adjusting plans as needed to meet goals
- Foster a nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages academic, social, and emotional growth
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to coordinate support
- Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to goal planning, and maintain thorough documentation
