Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification (state-specific requirements apply)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Experience teaching or working with early elementary (K-2) students preferred
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
- Collaborator who can work effectively with general education staff, parents, and support personnel
- Comfortable supporting a range of mild to moderate disabilities in a self-contained setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction for a designated K-2 self-contained special education classroom
- Develop and adjust individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs and strengths
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to promote progress in academics, communication, and social skills
- Foster a positive, supportive, and structured classroom environment
- Collaborate with classroom aides, related service providers, and administrators to ensure comprehensive student support
- Collect and analyze student performance data for progress monitoring and timely reporting
- Maintain open, proactive communication with families, ensuring ongoing partnership in each child's educational journey
