Special Education Teacher | Viroqua, Wisconsin

Step into a rewarding full-time Special Education teaching opportunity working with high school students in a dynamic educational setting. This contract position spans the full 2026-2027 school year, running from August 18, 2026, through June 3, 2027. You’ll play a key role supporting students in grades 9-12 with a cross-categorical caseload projected between 16 and 20 students, all while benefitting from the assistance of two dedicated educational assistants.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid and active Wisconsin Special Education Teaching Certification/license
• Experience or strong interest in serving students in grades 9-12
• Familiarity with cross-categorical caseloads and related compliance responsibilities
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Dedication to fostering inclusive and positive learning environments
• Ability to adapt lessons and support plans for diverse student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging instruction, accommodations, and modifications tailored to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with general education staff, support personnel, and families to facilitate student success
• Provide direct guidance to and coordinate responsibilities for two educational assistants
• Maintain all required records, progress monitoring, and data documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
• Support a positive, inclusive school culture for students of all backgrounds and abilities
