High School Special Education Teacher - Hamden, Connecticut

Step into an impactful role supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher for a maternity leave assignment starting this September and continuing through December. This contract position offers the opportunity to work full-time, 37.5 hours per week, in a collaborative and resourceful environment dedicated to student growth.

As a vital member of the high school team, you’ll engage in a resource and co-teaching setting, providing targeted support for diverse learners while fostering independence and academic achievement. Your expertise will contribute directly to helping students succeed in their academic and social goals during a key transitional period.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility for certification).
• Experience working at the high school level is strongly preferred.
• Background in resource settings or co-teaching models, with demonstrated ability to adapt instruction for diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication skills with students, staff, and families.
• Commitment to maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom culture.
• Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs to meet individual student goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction in a resource/co-teaching model.
