Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher at a vibrant school community near Walnut Cove, NC. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week, approx. 7:00 AM–2:30 PM) spans from early August through late May. You’ll collaborate with another dedicated EC teacher, each managing a caseload of 20–25 exceptional children (EC) receiving resource support through pull-out and inclusion services. All students are part of the general curriculum, allowing you to focus on meaningful progress within a supportive, team-minded environment.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching credential
  • Demonstrated expertise with IEP case management, co-writing and facilitating IEP meetings
  • Ability to provide specialized instruction in reading, math, and behavior aligned with IEP service times
  • Progress monitoring and documentation of IEP goals
  • Experience delivering instruction in a pull-out and inclusion setting
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues, students, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload (20–25 students) as their primary EC case manager
  • Schedule, facilitate, and document IEP meetings
  • Author individualized education plans and deliver related service times in core academic areas
  • Collect and analyze data to track student progress on IEP goals, adjusting instruction as needed
  • Collaborate closely with a fellow EC teacher for program support and continuity
  • Partner with general education staff to ensure successful student inclusion
