Position: Special Education Math Teacher
Location: South Amboy, New Jersey
School Year: September 1, 2026 – June 24, 2027
Schedule: Full-Time | 35 Hours per Week
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Math Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will provide specialized mathematics instruction while supporting students with diverse learning needs in an inclusive and engaging educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality math instruction tailored to students with individualized learning needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and instructional accommodations.
- Differentiate lessons using evidence-based teaching strategies to promote student achievement.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Foster a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages academic growth and independence.
Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Special Education certification required.
- Candidates must also have appropriate college coursework/credits in Mathematics.
- Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) certification with qualifying math credits will also be considered.
- Strong instructional, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience teaching students with disabilities is preferred.
