Make a difference as a contract occupational therapist supporting students’ growth and development near Norwalk, CT! In this role, you’ll work collaboratively with educators and families to provide tailored OT services within the school environment, helping students reach their full potential academically and functionally.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current OT license valid for Connecticut (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting highly desired
  • Strong understanding of IEPs and special education processes
  • Ability to adapt interventions for diverse student needs, including sensory, fine/gross motor, and self-regulation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective consultation with staff and families
  • Organizational skills to manage caseload and documentation efficiently

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct assessments to identify students’ OT needs and develop appropriate intervention plans
  • Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services as outlined in student IEPs
  • Collaborate regularly with teachers, special education staff, and caregivers
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for assessments, progress notes, and service logs
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise for goal development
  • Support implementation of evidence-based strategies and classroom modifications
  • Provide training and resources to school staff on OT best practices
