Job Description
Step into a dynamic contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year as a School Psychologist supporting students from kindergarten through grade 12. This in-person role spans August 2026 through June 2027, and offers the chance to positively impact learners across multiple schools within a welcoming district near Winsted, CT.
You’ll provide crucial psychological services across the district on a full-time schedule, working 32 to 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Engage with diverse age groups and collaborate with faculty, caregivers, and administrators to foster an environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist certification.
- Experience working with K-12 populations in an educational setting.
- Strong assessment, counseling, and consultation skills.
- Effective communicator with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to travel between school sites as needed.
- Commitment to in-person service delivery throughout the school year.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological and educational assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for support.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions.
- Develop and implement intervention strategies to address students’ social, behavioral, and emotional needs.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and administrators in multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in IEP meetings; contribute to 504 and special education planning.
- Maintain thorough documentation and ensure compliance with district and state guidelines.
