Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting high school students as a skilled Occupational Therapist in a dynamic school setting. This position spans the entire academic year, beginning August 11, 2026 and concluding on May 26, 2027. You’ll play a crucial role in empowering approximately 18 students in grades 9 through 12 by providing essential therapy to foster their growth and independence.
This contract offers a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week, from 7:30am to 3:00pm, allowing you to make a meaningful impact during regular school hours while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Current Illinois Occupational Therapy licensure
- Experience working as an OT with high school students or within a school environment preferred
- Strong understanding of treating students with complex needs
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt strategies to meet individual student goals
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate students’ occupational therapy needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Implement therapeutic interventions to boost students’ fine motor, sensory, visual-perceptual, and self-help skills
- Work closely with faculty, support staff, and families to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and collaborate at IEP meetings
- Provide insight and education to school teams to maximize student engagement and success
