Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract role as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a self-contained classroom setting. This opportunity will have you working with a dedicated caseload of 10-20 students, beginning as soon as possible and continuing through May 21, 2026. With a full-time schedule of five days per week and eight hours per day, you’ll play a crucial role in helping students achieve their learning goals.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting
- Knowledge of instructional strategies for diverse learning needs
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction in a self-contained classroom, adapting lessons to individual students’ needs
- Create, execute, and review IEPs in collaboration with families and educational teams
- Assess student progress and modify teaching approaches as needed
- Cultivate an environment that is safe, welcoming, and conducive to learning
- Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and support staff
- Document student performance and maintain accurate records
- Comply with all district policies and special education regulations
