Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students with special needs near Dawson, GA, for the 2026-2027 academic year. As a dedicated Special Education Teacher, you'll have the chance to positively impact elementary or high school students and help them thrive in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
This full-time opportunity starts August 3, 2026, and concludes May 27, 2027. You'll work 35 to 37.5 hours each week, Monday through Friday, serving students with diverse learning needs on a manageable caseload. Engage collaboratively with fellow educators, share insights with support staff, and create individualized learning experiences tailored to each student’s capabilities and goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification for the state of Georgia
- Skills and experience working with elementary and/or high school learners in a special education setting
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and colleagues
- Positive, flexible attitude and a commitment to professional growth
- Organizational skills to manage caseload documentation and compliance responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt instructional materials to meet students’ diverse learning needs
- Foster an inclusive classroom culture that celebrates each student’s strengths
- Monitor and record student progress, providing timely feedback
- Partner with general educators, administrators, and support personnel
