Job Description
Make an impact by teaching and supporting students with special needs in a dynamic school environment. This contract opportunity runs from August 17, 2026, through June 3, 2027, for multiple positions serving a variety of specialized resource and center-based programs for middle school and elementary-aged students. Candidates will work onsite in an engaging and collaborative setting, supporting classrooms focused on Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD), and Emotional Behavioral Disorders, among others.
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching credential in one or more of the following:
- Special Education: Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Special Education: Developmental Disabilities
- Special Education: Early Childhood
- Special Education: Emotional Behavioral Disorders
- Special Education: Learning Disabilities
- Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (ABS license is optional, not required)
- Experience in behavior intervention strategies and problem-solving
- Strong instructional capabilities and adaptability to various classroom structures
- Excellent attendance record
- Knowledge of developing and implementing behavior plans
- Effective collaborator, adept at working with paraprofessionals and both special and general education colleagues
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a resource or center-based educator for students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
- Develop, monitor, and adjust behavior strategies and individualized education plans
- Create consistent classroom routines that foster student growth and engagement
- Collaborate closely with teams across special and general education
- Mentor paraprofessionals and assist in establishing effective classroom partnerships
