Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract role supporting high school students as a valued Occupational Therapist. This opportunity offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students in grades 9 through 12, all while collaborating with dedicated staff in an inclusive environment. The contract runs from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, with consistent weekday hours from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm.
In this position, you'll work with a manageable caseload of about 18 students who have complex needs, providing both direct intervention and consultative support in a dynamic high school setting. You'll engage with students, faculty, and families to foster independence and success both within and outside of the classroom.
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Current Occupational Therapist license, or eligibility in the state.
- Previous school-based experience, especially at the high school level, greatly preferred.
- Strong clinical skills for addressing complex physical, sensory, and cognitive challenges.
- Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, families, and educators.
- Creative, flexible problem-solver dedicated to student growth.
- Familiarity with IEP process and evidence-based therapy approaches.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess student needs to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students in grades 9–12.
- Document progress and maintain records in accordance with district and federal guidelines.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation of educational plans.
- Provide staff and family consultations to maximize student independence.
- Adapt interventions to suit a high school schedule and academic goals.
