Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education certification required
- Mathematics credits or related coursework strongly preferred
- Alternatively, Teacher of the Handicapped certification with credits in Math will be considered
- Prior experience teaching in special education settings is a plus
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- A passion for fostering both academic and personal growth among diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized math instruction to students with a range of learning needs
- Develop and implement engaging lessons based on IEP goals and curricular standards
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies for optimal outcomes
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to create an inclusive learning environment
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
- Support social-emotional development alongside academic achievement
