Established in 1942, this expansive 340-square-mile military installation serves as the Army's premier site for training and deploying heavy forces. Covering 214,968 acres, Fort Cavazos is the largest active-duty armored post in the U.S. Armed Forces and the only base capable of stationing and training two Armored Divisions.

Key Responsibilities

As a Supervisory Physician, you will:

• Lead and provide technical guidance to the staff at the MEB Outpatient Clinic.
• Conduct thorough reviews of medical records, interpret diagnostic tests and x-rays, and utilize clinical judgment to arrange for specialty consultations as needed.
• Compose detailed narrative summaries incorporating consultant insights and opinions.
• Evaluate community and patient needs, mission requirements, and available resources to plan and deliver a comprehensive range of outpatient and inpatient services.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to assess and reconcile conflicting medical evidence in complex cases.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Employment Conditions

Employment is contingent upon a suitability or fitness determination following a background investigation. Specific conditions include:

• A Personnel Security Investigation is mandatory.
• Selected candidates may need to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or provide a valid exemption.
• This role is classified as a Testing Designated Position, requiring pre-employment screening and random drug testing.
• A pre-placement medical examination may be necessary.
• Immunization screening may be required, including Hepatitis B for positions with direct patient contact.
• Maintaining current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.
• A valid stateside driver's license may be necessary.
• Candidates must meet credentialing requirements and maintain relevant clinical privileges.
• Tuberculosis testing may be required.

Qualifications

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and meet the following basic requirements:

• Degree: A Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited institution in the U.S. or Canada. Degrees from foreign medical schools must demonstrate equivalency to U.S. accredited programs.
• Licensure: A current, unrestricted license as a Physician from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory is required.
• Graduate Training: At least one year of supervised clinical experience, such as an internship or the first year of a residency program, is necessary.
• Experience/Training: A minimum of five years of graduate training in the relevant specialty or equivalent experience is required.

Compensation

Salary details will not be disclosed at the initial job offer stage. The salary determination process will commence once the job offer is accepted, involving the Activity Compensation Panel to establish your starting salary based on base pay and market pay.

Physician salaries are tiered based on specialty, grade, and location. This announcement may be utilized to fill positions across the following tiers:

• Tier 1: $121,020 - $300,000
• Tier 2: $145,000 - $320,000
• Tier 3: $165,000 - $336,000
