Position: Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Teacher
Location: Fruitport, Michigan
Schedule: Up to 30 Hours per Week
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Teacher to join our team in Fruitport, MI. This position begins as a part-time opportunity (up to 30 hours per week) with the potential to transition into a full-time role as additional students enroll throughout the school year. The ideal candidate is committed to creating an engaging, supportive learning environment that promotes the growth and development of young learners with special needs.
Classroom Details
- Early Childhood Special Education classroom
- Current caseload of 6 students (caseload may grow throughout the year)
- Teacher will have their own classroom
- Supported by three classroom assistants
- Opportunity to collaborate with an experienced veteran ECSE teacher for ongoing mentorship and support
Qualifications
- Preferred: Michigan Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) endorsement
- Required: Valid Michigan Special Education certification
- Candidates with other Michigan Special Education endorsements will be considered
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized, developmentally appropriate instruction to young learners with disabilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Foster a structured, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
- Collaborate with classroom assistants, families, and multidisciplinary team members
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and school-based collaboration
