Occupational Therapist School Setting in Hialeah, FL
Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with occupational therapy services across several educational settings near Hialeah, FL. This engaging role is ideal for professionals confident in providing school-based OT support and eager to make a positive difference for K-12 learners in both in-person and virtual environments.
You’ll have the flexibility to work at various schools each week:
- Approximately 30 minutes per week at a Charter School in Lee County
- 2-3 hours per week at a Naples-area innovative preparatory school
- Serve K-12 students with two distinct time commitments: one caseload at 30 minutes per week, another at 90 minutes per week
- Start date: August 10th
We welcome candidates interested in a virtual (VOCO) assignment, provided all credentialing requirements for remote service delivery are met.
Qualifications:
- Credentialed Occupational Therapist with relevant state licensure
- Experience in school-based settings, especially supporting K-12 populations
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Comfortable collaborating with on-site and virtual school staff
- Prior experience or openness to delivering teletherapy services (strongly preferred for VOCO)
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
What You’ll Do:
- Assess and evaluate student needs and develop individualized therapy goals
- Provide direct OT sessions in accordance with IEP recommendations (in-person or VOCO)
- Document progress and adjust plans to best support student development
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment
- Ensure compliance with school, district, and state guidelines for OT delivery
