Required Qualifications:
- Valid Tennessee Special Education Teaching Certification (accepted: 144, 145, or 461)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Experience working with middle school students preferred
- Knowledge of instructional strategies for students with Specific Learning Disabilities, Other-Health Impairments, and Language Impairments
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively in a team-oriented setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted academic interventions in reading and math to help students achieve their IEP goals
- Partner with general education teachers to provide inclusive co-teaching support within mainstream classrooms
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials as needed to meet diverse learner needs
- Track and document student progress, updating IEPs accordingly
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages positive student engagement
- Caseload ranges from 12-22 students, depending on staffing (if multiple hires, each caseload will be closer to 12)
This full-time position runs from early August, at the start of the school year, through late May. You’ll enjoy a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Compensation is highly competitive, ranging from $35 to $40 per hour, paid weekly.
