Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with children or adolescents in educational settings
- Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and the ability to implement accommodations and modifications
- Effective collaboration skills for working with general education staff, families, and related service providers
- Strong classroom management abilities, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing, and positive classroom culture
Responsibilities:
- Develop, plan, and deliver instruction tailored to the needs of students with diverse abilities
- Write and implement IEPs, monitor student progress, and provide regular updates to families and team members
- Utilize research-based strategies and interventions to promote academic, behavioral, emotional, and social growth
- Collaborate with educational teams to ensure student goals are being met within self-contained or inclusion settings
- Maintain accurate records, attend required meetings, and participate in professional development opportunities
- Create a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment rooted in respect and understanding
