Step into a specialized opportunity serving a school community as a part-time Physical Therapist on a contract basis for the upcoming academic year. This position offers a stable, consistent schedule of 30 minutes per week, beginning August 12, 2026 and concluding May 27, 2027. With guaranteed hours and the freedom to focus exclusively on student care, you’ll enjoy meaningful, focused interactions without the added demands of school-wide responsibilities such as bus or parent pick-up duties.
Your expertise will be highly valued in providing both direct and indirect physical therapy services to students, supporting their growth and independence within an educational environment. All documentation, planning, and interventions happen within your scheduled, contracted hours—giving you clarity and manageable expectations.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Active licensure as a Physical Therapist in North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain)
- Prior experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
- Familiarity with IEP goals and documentation for students with diverse needs
- Strong collaboration skills to work alongside teachers, school staff, and families
- Effective communication skills for both student and professional interactions
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized physical therapy evaluations and interventions per IEP requirements
- Document services and progress with accuracy and timeliness
- Consult and collaborate with educators and caregivers regarding student care plans
- Participate in eligibility and IEP team meetings as necessary within allotted hours
