Job Summary and Qualifications

Registered Nurses are responsible for delivering and coordinating patient care. This role involves collaborating with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to provide both physical and emotional support to patients and their families. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to, assessments, developing personalized care plans, administering medications, documentation, educating patients, maintaining equipment, and communicating patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
  • Provide respiratory care, manage ventilators, and monitor patients accordingly.
  • Act as the primary coordinator for all disciplines involved in patient care.
  • Utilize computerized documentation systems to monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as necessary.
  • Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with your healthcare team.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN licensure from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • ACLS certification must be obtained within six months of hire or transfer from a non-ICU area.
  • Specialty certification is preferred.
  • One to two years of clinical nursing experience is preferred.
  • Experience in an ICU setting is preferred.
