Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a skilled Special Education Teacher. Multiple positions are available for the 2026-2027 academic year. You’ll provide specialized instruction and behavioral support across a variety of dynamic settings, including middle school resource roles and center-based programs focused on Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD).
In these roles, you’ll work onsite, collaborating with dedicated teams to implement individualized behavior plans, develop structured classroom environments, and support student growth. Experience in managing Emotional Behavioral Disorders and collaborating with both special education and general education staff will set you up for success.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a Minnesota teaching credential in one or more of the following areas:
- Special Education: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Academic & Behavioral Strategist License, or related special education credentials.
- Significant knowledge of classroom management, behavior intervention strategies, and individualized education programs.
- Strong instructional and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attendance and reliability.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and paraprofessionals.
- Experience in cross-categorical classrooms and familiarity with students requiring behavioral supports is highly valued.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction and behavior support in resource and center-based settings.
- Develop and implement effective behavior intervention and classroom strategies tailored to student needs.
- Collaborate with classroom staff and paraprofessionals to maximize student engagement and progress.
- Create structured, positive classroom communities.
- Monitor and report on student development and adjust interventions as needed.
