Job Description
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by providing essential support as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting near Saint Paul, MN. This contract opportunity runs from August 19 through June 7, 2027, with optional but highly encouraged start days on August 17 and 18 to help you prepare for a successful year. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, offering a stable and predictable schedule.
As a dedicated educator, you’ll collaborate with an inclusive team, working to create an environment where every learner can thrive. Openings are available for both middle school (grades 6–8) and high school (grades 9–12) levels.
Qualifications:
- Special Education (SpEd) license is preferred, or actively pursuing SpEd licensure
- Experience working with students in either middle or high school settings is an asset
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Dedication to fostering a supportive, positive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
- Directly instruct students individually and in small groups, tailoring support per IEPs
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers and support staff
- Communicate progress and strategies with families and guardians
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in special education
