Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Experience working with students who have disabilities, particularly those with autism or requiring resource support
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes and documentation
- Ability to adapt and modify curriculum to meet diverse student needs
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, therapists, families, and support staff
- Compassion, patience, and a student-centered mindset
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Develop, implement, and oversee IEPs for assigned students in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Deliver engaging instruction that accommodates a variety of learning needs and styles
- Use evidence-based strategies to foster academic, social, and emotional growth
- Progress monitor and report on student achievements and challenges
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Advocate for student needs and ensure equitable access to educational opportunities
- Resource Specialist: Provide targeted interventions and support in general education settings
- Mod/Severe (Autism): Create structured, nurturing classroom environments using individualized behavioral and instructional strategies
