Special Education Teacher in Bloomfield, CT

Make a real impact by supporting students’ learning journeys in a welcoming school environment. Travel special education teachers are needed for full-time contracts spanning the 2026-2027 academic year, working directly with K-7th grade students in resource classrooms. Multiple positions are available to serve Kindergarten, Grades 1-2, or Grade 7 resource/case management needs. Schedules run Monday through Friday, for 35–37.5 hours weekly, and assignments are fully in-person.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid special education teaching certification
• Experience with K-7th grade students (specific experience with Kindergarten, Grades 1-2, or Grade 7 preferred)
• Proven expertise in delivering individualized education plans (IEPs) and supporting diverse learning needs
• Strong organizational and communication skills as a case manager/teacher
• Commitment to fostering inclusive, adaptive classroom environments
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including general education teachers and support staff
• Energetic, flexible, and resourceful approach to daily challenges
• Availability for an in-person, full-time schedule for the entire school year

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized resource instruction for designated grade-level caseload
• Serve as a case manager; maintain timely and thorough documentation for student progress and compliance
• Coordinate and participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences
• Adapt lesson plans to meet unique student strengths and needs
• Encourage student growth toward academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals
• Collaborate daily with fellow educators and specialists to deliver targeted interventions
• Maintain a positive, compassionate classroom dynamic
